Willis Ray Meldrum of Orem Utah left this life peacefully on November 18, 2018. He was born December 12, 1942 to Spencer Huie Meldrum and Clara Smith Meldrum in Provo Utah. On July 27, 1961, he married his high school love, Jeanne Buckner, in the Manti, Utah temple.
Willis worked hard to provide for his family. He was at Geneva Steel for 29 years before it shut down. After that he worked for the 2002 SLC Winter Olympics, then found employment with Home Depot in Lindon, Utah, from where he retired. Spending time in the outdoors with his family camping and deer hunting were favorites of his. He also enjoyed collecting antiques, guns, rifles, and anything with an eagle on it. He also enjoyed woodworking in his garage and was extremely handy around the house, figuring out how to fix things.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his daughter, Natalie; his two grandsons, Brandon and Zaden; and by his sister Geneal Morrey. He is preceded in death by his son, Darin Ray Meldrum; his parents; two sisters, Geraldine Mower and Catherine Hardman; and two brothers, Spencer Carl Meldrum and Merlyn S Meldrum.
Funeral services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints meeting house on 1660 N 200 W in Orem, Utah Saturday the 24th at 11:00am, with a short viewing just before starting at 10:00am.
