Our sweet dad, Bill Olsen, passed away into the next life on May 12, 2015. He is now reunited with our mom, his eternal companion, Mary Alice Berry Olsen, who died exactly 13 years ago on that same day. He was completely devoted to her and has missed her terribly. He was born December 15, 1929, and was raised in Brigham City and Salt Lake City. He served his first full time mission in Texas-Lousiana, came home and studied hard and fell in love with our mom. We mostly remember him as we grew up in Kaysville, Utah, while he worked at Hill Air Force Base as a creative and talented aeronautical engineer. He could identify almost any plane that flew over our house just by the roar of the engine. He was gentle, kind, wise and fun, and always a quick-draw with the 'dad joke' that could make any kid groan. We will miss him so much for these reasons, but mostly because his core was full of faith, testimony of the Savior, steadiness and a desire to help his kids in any way he could. He and Mom served a mission together in New Hampshire and worked in the Bountiful and Timpanogos Temples. He is survived by his 5 children, 19 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Saturday, May 15 at 12:00 at the LDS Church 90 N. 600 W. Orem with visiting from 11 -11:45. Interment will be at the Orem Cemetery afterwards. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the LDS Church Missionary Fund. These last several difficult years were made more pleasant for him by our loving sister, Kristy Olsen Thompson, who gave kind care to him every day. We thank her deeply for that. Well done, Wild Bill. You got to go home at last. I hope they let you fly planes and drive fast cars once in a while...
