Provo, UT- It is with sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of William John (Bill) Hayward. Our dear father, husband, grandfather, brother, and brother in law, Bill, passed on January 6, 2019 surrounded by family. Bill was born in Provo Utah on January 11, 1946 to Roy and Dorthy Hayward. Bill married Larae Fry on January 11, 1969 in Elko Nevada. They had two children: Gena Mullins (Scott), Michael Hayward (Wendy) and four step children: Valerie Fenton, Patricia Ledford (James), Melanie Holt (Steve), Sharee Scott (Brad). He served in the US Navy from 1965 to 1970. He received a medal from the Cuban Missle Crisis as he rescued many people from the isalnd. Bill owned Hayward Concrete Construction for over 46 years. Bill was meticulous and always did beautiful work. Bill and his son received many awards for their concrete work. Bill was a skilled craftsman and created many beautiful wood pieces in his home and at his property. Bill loved spending time at his property in Fruitland, UT. Bill was an avid hunter and was passionate about hunting and the outdoors. Bill was a skilled taxadermist.
Family: Sister Royann Baum (LaDell). His best friend and companion dog, Slick. He was proceeded in death by a grandson (Jason Fenton) and great grandson (Zachary Fenton). survived by 18 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all of the hospital and hospice staff that helped in Bills final days.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Sundberg-Olpin Funeral Home, 495 South State Street, Orem. Viewings will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services on Thursday.
