Wilford Russell Clyde, of Orem, Utah, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016. He was born April 28, 1939, to Hazel Arlene Savage Clyde and William Russell Clyde. He married Olivia Anne Murdock in the Salt Lake Temple on July 8, 1965.

Russell was born in Springville, Utah, and grew up there. He served in the New England mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1958–60. After his mission, he went to Brigham Young University for a year and then joined the US Navy and served for 6 years, from 1961–67, during which time Anne gave birth to the two oldest children. He left the Navy, and he and Anne moved back to Utah so that he could complete a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering at BYU. During that time, they added two more children to the family. After his graduation, they moved to Southern California, where they lived there for 11 years and had 5 more children. They then moved to Connecticut for 6 years, where the youngest child was born, before moving back to Utah.

He is survived by his 10 children: Tim, of Orem, UT; Bill (Julie), of Olympia, WA; Jeannie, of San Diego, CA; Angela (Fabio), of Provo, UT; Robyn (Brandon), of Berryton, KS; Daniel (Tanya), of Manhattan, KS; April (Dru), of Spring, TX; Alex, of Orem, UT; Jared (Jenny), of Pleasant Grove, UT; and Sam, of Rexburg, ID. He also has 29 surviving grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two of his grandchildren, Esther Anne Davis and Jarom Daniel Clyde.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 6, 2017, at 11:00 am at the LDS chapel on 225 E 200 N in Orem, UT. Viewings will be held on Thursday evening, January 5, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street in Orem and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the services.
