Wendy Workman, ‘Little Woo,’ passed away peacefully in her sleep the morning of January 17, 2022, in Sandy, Utah. She was born to Claude Dee Workman and Carol Ellertson Thomas in Provo, Utah on August 3, 1958. She married Paul Zitting, later divorced. She married Dirk Devey, later divorced.
For her entire life, Wendy worked hard to overcome many health challenges that most of us couldn’t imagine surviving. She was strong-willed and independent and never complained about anything, even during the most difficult times.
As a child Wendy was full of mischief. She was left in charge of babysitting her little brother and sister and as soon as mom left, she’d have them in the kitchen making cookie dough and eating it right from the bowl. She always had a little twinkle in her eye like she was trying to get away with something, and usually was.
Wendy loved shopping at Walmart and could be dangerous with the cart. She was thrilled if she could find clothing on the sale rack for less than $5.00. Even though she was careful with money and on a tight budget she was always dressed fashionably. Her shoe closet could rival anyone’s and she could find great deals since she wore a tiny size 5. She loved makeup and changing her hair color. Her hair had to be perfectly spiked before she would leave the house, the smell of Aqua Net wafting behind her.
Even as family reunions grew and there were a lot of cousins to keep track of, everyone knew Wendy. She was the life of the party. She loved playing games and especially loved winning prizes.
Wendy was always thoughtful and asked about her nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and loved hearing stories about the new babies.
Hee hee, Woo, we love you.
Wendy is survived by her mother, Carol Thomas, and stepmother, Glenna Workman; siblings, Kathy Kassimis, Steve (Shelly) Workman, Janet (Rulon) Hunter, Phillip Workman; step- siblings, Terry (Kathi) Johnson, Gary (Lynda) Johnson, Myron (Nancy) Johnson, Jolinn (Eric) Andriese as well as many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father, Claude Workman; brothers, Brad Henderson, Alan Henderson.
