Warren Joel Richards passed away November 2, 2017, in Salt Lake City, Utah, after a long struggle with cancer. Warren was born July 4, 1951, in Logan, Utah, to Joel J. and Emma Lou Chantrill Richards. His childhood years were spent in St. George and Richfield, Utah. As a youth, he was active in scouting, tennis, band, and enjoyed the outdoors with camping, hunting, and fishing. He loved learning and valued education. He graduated from Richfield High School and Virginia Military Institute. He served in the army reserves following graduation from VMI. He completed master's degrees in history and economics at Utah State University. He completed post graduate work at the University of Arkansas. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He is survived by his sisters and one brother: Carolyn Richards, DeAnn (Steven) Baxter, Brent L. Richards, Sharon (Rick) Rodger; 11 nieces and nephews, and 4 great-nieces and nephews. Warren is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Susan.
Memorial services will be held November 11, 2017, at 1 p.m. in the Belmont LDS Ward Building, 16925 North 5200 West, Riverside, Utah. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery 5275 West 15400 North, Riverside, Utah, 84334
