Tennyson Smith passed away on Jan 21, 2015 in Orem, UT. Tennyson was born in Raymond, Alberta, Canada on Mar 28, 1927 to Sidney Bailey Smith and Elsie Mary Sloan. Tennyson married Renee Clotilde Argault in the Salt Lake City Temple on Jan 17, 1950. He earned a BS in Chemical Engineering and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Utah. Tennyson worked for Rockwell International in CA for 29 years, during which time he was issued several patents and published numerous scientific papers. Tennyson and Renee retired to Orem, UT in 1984 where Tennyson continued to develop scientific instruments until 2001. Tennyson was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where he served 3 missions, in many bishoprics and high councils, and in the Provo and Timpanogos temples. Tennyson was fun loving and had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved to build and fly model airplanes, and enjoyed boating and fishing. Tennyson is survived by his wife of 65 years, Renee Clotilde Argault, and his six children: Michel Tenny Smith married to Catheryn Mandia, of Lake Stevens, WA; Pierre Argault Smith married to Carrie Rebecca Rollins, of Lake Charles, LA; Jacqueline Smith married to Max Sidney Wood, of Orem, UT; Maurice Edouard Smith married to Natalie Jean Kennedy, of Roswell, GA; Annette Smith married to Darrell Lynn Moss, of Lindon, UT; and Nicole Yvette Smith married to L Joseph Rivest II, of Orem, UT. Tennyson and Renee have 35 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held on Sat., Jan. 24, 2015, from 8:45 a.m. - 9:45 a.m., at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 545 S. 800 E., Orem, UT. The funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Internment will take place after the funeral service at East Lawn Cemetery, Provo, UT.
