Tayva Rhoton Patch, 62, peacefully passed on Saturday, November 21, 2015 of complications following surgery. She was surrounded by her family. She was born in Winslow, Arizona to Clyde and Ada Rhoton. She attended BYU in the Fall of 1972 where she met the love of her life, Brian Patch. They were married in the Mesa, Arizona Temple and have four phenomenal children. Tayva had a passion for theatre and all things artistic. She created a fun, beautiful home in Provo where she raised her family. The Patch home was always filled with art, music and joy, a haven for all who entered. She had an eye for architecture and design and knew how to blend colors and textures like no one else. Her influence is present in all of her children's homes. She blessed her family with art, music, literature and classic movies and musicals. She loved Halloween and there wasn't a year that went by when every room in her home wasn't tastefully decorated. She was an incredible and accomplished actress, gracing the stage and screen numerous times. Also a gifted costumer, Tayva had a way with designing wardrobe pieces that would enhance the performance tremendously. The relationships she developed with her fellow actors and crew were lasting and dear to her heart. She made everyone feel special and important, because everyone she met was truly special and important to her. All who met Tayva instantly loved her and believed they were counted among her dearest friends. She was genuine, sincere, gracious and beautiful. Whether she was using her artistic or dramatic skills, performing, listening or serving, everything Tayva accomplished was extraordinary, but she always said that her crowning achievement was her children. She will be dearly and deeply missed. She is survived by her loving husband Brian, children Andrea (Scott Leaver), Marty (Jessica), Julia (Cody Jolley) and Richard (Randi) and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Bert Rhoton, and grandson Jacob Leaver. There will be a viewing on Tuesday November 24th from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 S. State Street, Orem, Utah, and another viewing Wednesday November 25th from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. at the Edgemont 14th Ward Chapel 4220 Foothill Drive, Provo, Utah. The funeral service will begin afterward at 10:00 a.m.
