Sibyl Florence Rowe Beffort Allen died Thursday, August 17, 2017. She was born May 31,1924, to Florence Clara Headman and Claude Caratat Rowe, joining older sister Shirley in their little family. When she was 9 months old, her father died as a result of diphtheria. A few years later, Sibyl's mother married George Frederick Jex. Over the years, the family was completed with Sibyl's sister Midge and brothers Charles "Chuck", Lynn, and Rodney. Sibyl grew up in a happy and loving family.
Sibyl attended Maiser Elementary, Farrer Jr. High, and Provo High School. After high school, she went to work at the telephone office, a job she enjoyed and where she made many good friends. In 1947, she met handsome Xaver Beffort. They were married in 1948. Daughters Carolyn and Yvonne joined their family. Xaver died in 1956. In 1961, Sibyl married Louis Merle Allen in the Salt Lake Temple. Lou's son, Jeff, became big brother to Yvonne and Carolyn. Everyone was delighted when baby sister Shari joined the family. Lou died in 1992.
Sibyl was devoted to home, family, and church. She served as Primary, Relief Society and Young Women's President and in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She spent hours doing genealogical extraction work. She was an excellent seamstress and cook. She loved reading and crossword puzzles. Her greatest qualities were her kindness and compassion for everyone and the happiness and humor she shared with others. Above all she loved being a mother!

She is survived by her sister Mildred Houghton; brothers Charles, Lynn and Rodney Jex; children Jeff (Eva) Allen, Carolyn (Rick) Christensen, Yvonne (Duane) Allen, and Shari (Kirk) Cloward; 25 Grandchildren; and 85 great grandchildren.
