Sherril Hundley

Lindon, Utah

Sherril (Sherrie) Ahlstrom Hundley, of Lindon, Utah, passed away on June 5, 2022. She was born to Dwane and Grace Olsen Ahlstrom on March 20, 1932, in Spring City UT. She graduated from Provo High School and attended BYU. She married her high school sweetheart, John Davis (Jack) Hundley on March 24, 1954 in the Salt Lake Temple. They made homes together in S. Carolina, Provo, Orem and Lindon Utah.

Sherrie loved music, nature and family which was reflected in her drawings, paintings, and written works. She produced several works of art, wrote poetry and published books. Sherrie was passionate about preserving family history. She collected many family artifacts and produced volumes of family history and genealogy. She was an active member of many community organizations including the League of Utah Writers, Utah State Poetry Society, and Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. She also on the Board of Directors for Utah Valley Care and Training Center and helped raise funds for a school for disabled children.

Sherrie lived a life of love and service. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served faithfully in many capacities in the church. She and Jack enjoyed beautifying their home and yard and hosting family parties. They loved traveling with family and friends. Love of family and love of the gospel were her guiding lights.

Sherrie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son-David, 2 grandsons and a great-granddaughter. She is survived by 4 sons, Eric (Kerri), Paul (Annie), Dale (Sharon), Steven (Tonya), a foster daughter Oriel (Hillis), 29 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, and a sister, Mignon Gallier.

As requested by Sherrie, there will be a closed casket visitation on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at the LDS chapel located at 56 East 600 North, Lindon, UT from 9:30-10:30 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m.

lnterment will be at Provo City Cemetery. Services provided by Sundberg-Olpin and Wheeler Mortuary, Orem.
