Shauna Kuykendall

Shauna Griffith Kuykendall (68) passed away peacefully in her home in Provo on Saturday, April 28, 2018. Born August 12th, 1949 in Ray, Arizona as the fifth of six children to Byron Naylor Griffith and Francis Muriel Sadler.

Shauna was a dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and a friend to many.  She was dedicated to her Father in Heaven, serving in several different leadership roles over the years.  She shared her testimony through kindness and example.  She was a grandmother extraordinaire.  She was an incredible planner and organizer.  No one could compete with her tea parties, grandma camps, Santa's playhouses and Easter picnics.

Shauna loved her 14 years working at BYU where she worked in the Department of Statistics.  She was loved by faculty and staff and touched the lives of many student workers.  Shauna loved to travel, and she and Steve traveled the world for over thirty years.

Shauna is survived by her loving husband, best friend and high school sweetheart R. Stephen Kuykendall; children Whitney (John) Larson, Amy (John) Fagg, Candice (Benjamin) Palmer, Stephen (Nikky) Kuykendall and grandchildren Rob Larson, Kat!e Larson, Thomas Fagg, Reneé Fagg, Ty Fagg, Connor Fagg, Joshua Fagg, Samuel Palmer, Owen Palmer, Nathan Palmer, Annie Palmer, Jamis Winther, Joseph Winther, Grace Kuykendall, and Calvin Kuykendall. She is also survived by her brothers Dare (Glenda) Griffith, Bruce (Andrea) Griffith, and sister Reneé (Elias) Alvidrez. She is preceded in death by her parents Byron Naylor Griffith and Francis Muriel Sadler; her siblings Ronald (Peggy) Griffith and Frances Ann (Richard) Rogers; and son Rodney Stephen Kuykendall II.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the LDS Chapel located at 1555 North 1350 West, Provo, UT. Viewings will be held on Friday, May 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem and Saturday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at the church, prior to the funeral services. Interment will be in the Orem City Cemetery following the service.
