Sarah Barton

At the age of 87, our dear, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, Sarah Jane Gee Barton, passed away Monday, January 29, 2018, at her home with her devoted family at her side.

She was born in Oakley, Idaho, to Earl Gee and Winona Tolman. She was the second of five children. She was married to Owen Delos Barton on April 10, 1952. Jane was an elementary school teacher in the Yerington School district for 34 years. Jane was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and taught Seminary for 11 years. She loved taking pictures and collecting histories. She has left a legacy of family history books that will be appreciated for generations. Jane was a generous and loving person. She helped a lot of people in need. She loved her family and will be greatly missed.

Jane is survived by her six children and their spouses: Owen, Kendall, Cindy (Robert) Chesworth, Deloras Simmons, Delva (Chris) Hommes, Glade (Linda); 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018, at the Sundberg-Olpin Funeral Home located at 495 South State Street, Orem, Utah. Viewings will be held on Friday, February 2nd, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and on Saturday, February 3rd from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. just prior to the funeral service at the funeral home. The dedication of the grave will be at the Orem Cemetery 1520 North 800 East, Orem, Utah, following the service.
