Ruth Villegas Torres of Payson, Utah passed away peacefully on May 6th, 2019 after battling cancer for 11 years. She was born December 10, 1943 in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico. She was married to Jose Luis Torres for 51 years. He preceded her in death last year.

She is survived by their four children: Gabriel, Abel, Noah, and Joe, eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Ruth Torres was a spectacular woman. She was deeply devoted to her Savior and loved him dearly. She lived an exemplary life, demonstrating Christ-like qualities.

She had a huge impact on others, helping them in their journey in life. She assisted many immigrants as they came into the U.S. She helped out with interpreting at Payson Hospital, helping out whenever she was needed. She was always helping out and serving others, never thinking of herself.

Ruth was devoted to her husband, her children, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, and her friends. She loved her family very much.

The rosary preceding the viewing will be held on Tuesday May 14th, from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at The Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary located at 495 South State Street, Orem, Utah. The viewing will follow from 7:30 to 9:30 PM. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 15th, at 12 PM at the San Andres Catholic Church, 315 E 100 N, Payson, UT. Interment will follow immediately after at the Payson Cemetery located at 400 North 800 East, Payson, Utah.

A meal will be served at San Andreas Catholic Church located at 315 East 100 North, Payson, following the interment.
