Rose Elvira Tanner Anderson passed away peacefully on December 27, 2024, due to a brief illness.
Rose was born August 7, 1926, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Hyrum Tanner and Sara Elvira Eriksen Tanner. She moved with her family to Rockford, Illinois then to Boise, Idaho where she graduated from Boise High School in 1945. After attending BYU for a year, she returned to Boise where she worked as a bookkeeper. She met John Henry Anderson in Boise, Idaho but it would be a few years until anything happened. She served a mission to Norway after which she worked as a bookkeeper at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Administration Building in Salt Lake City. Finally, after knowing each other for 7 years, Rose and John married on December 28, 1954, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they raised six children while farming in various locations. She and John served as missionaries together in Lagos, Nigeria, Armenia, Moscow, Russia and Orlando, Florida. Later in life they moved to Pleasant Grove Utah where she enjoyed living closer to her siblings and working on Family History. Nothing was more important to her than the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Rose is survived by her children, Carol (Darrell) Baldwin, Lorn Anderson, John (Lisa) Anderson, Christine (Burke) Morin, Marie (Kyle) Johns, Daniel (Mary) Anderson, 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
