His assignments included tours of New York, California, Arizona, Japan, Colorado, Washington & Canada. After a full career serving our country in the military, he went on to serve his state by teaching junior high school in Springville, Utah, for 17 years.  He finished his teaching career after teaching teachers how to teach at B.Y.U. for three years.  He then volunteered for another 20 years for the City of Orem as a hearing officer, presiding over 500 cases during his long tenure.

Ron was a fabulous father, doting grandfather, beloved great-grandfather, much loved great-great-grandfather, a service-oriented individual, and a wonderful role-model. He was loved by everyone who met him. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving as a home teacher and a high priest.

Ron is survived by his three children: Teri (Bill) Popp of Wayzata, Minnesota; Sally (Bill) Selesky of Bailey, Colorado; and Ronni Sorensen of Orem; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; his sister-in-law Gerrie Shaw; and many beloved nephews and nieces. He lived the final 15 years of his life with his daughter Ronni, and his grandson Kyle, who looked upon Ron as a father.  He was preceded in death by his wife El; two brothers Clifford D and Wesley F Shaw; and sister-in-law Norma Shaw.
