Robert "Brent" Hall

Robert Brent Hall slipped from our grasp at the age of 81, on December 12, 2020 from Coronavirus. He was born on February 19, 1939 in Garland, Utah to Mary Huntsman Hall and Leroy Jardine Hall. He was the 4th of five children. He married his sweetheart, Alberta, on June 26, 1959 for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Utah Temple. They were blessed with 5 children.

As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Dad truly loved the Savior and strived to model his life after him. He served in many church callings including, Multiple Bishoprics, Youth Leadership, Home Teaching/Ministering, and many others. He and Alberta spent 15 years as Ordinance Workers in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. Mom and Dad met and courted at a young age. They made a commitment to always have a Gospel Centered relationship and home. He was always a perfect example of Christlike Love and wanted every person he met to feel important.

Brent attended West High School in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he enjoyed participating in multiple sports. Post High School, Brent attended the University of Utah and studied Engineering. He then served our country in the Air National Guard for six years. He spent most of his career at Hercules Aerospace, but his real passion was sales. He loved working for Western Publishing, selling Children’s Goldenbooks. It was there that he discovered “Where the Wild Things Are” and “Zipperumpazoo”, which he often read to his children and grandchildren.

Although Brent attended the University of Utah, he has always had a passion for BYU Athletics. He shared this passion with his Sons and Grandsons and would often be seen wearing BYU Attire on Game Day. Go Cougars!

One of the titles Brent held dear to his heart was the role he played as a Grandpa, but we like to refer to him as Popsie. Popsie loved all 27 of his Grandkids and 12 Great-Grandkids. He looked forward to Christmas Time each year when he would dress up as “Papa Santa” and bring the grandkids their special Christmas Eve Pajamas. You could always count on a kiss on the lips and a nice warm hug before you left grandpa’s house. He was the best grandpa.

Who is this great man?

Dad, Brent, Popsie, Honey

He’s the man in our lives,

That made our world sunny.

Accomplishments you say,

Oh, so many he had,

Like World’s Greatest Husband and our Magnificent Dad!

His favorite color was green,

And he cheered for the blue.

But on Christmas Eve in red,

Santa’s legend comes true!

You could look the world over

And you wouldn’t find better.

And a hug from our dad is like

The warmest cozy sweater!

Yep, he is the BEST!

I’m not gonna lie!

But he left us too soon.

And our love makes us cry.

The year is 2020

And it hasn’t been funny.

We lost our Popsie

And mom lost her honey.

Brent is survived by his wife Alberta Gidney of Orem, Utah; Brother, Jim (Linda) Hall of Cottage Grove, Oregon; Five Children; Brent (Lisa) Hall of Peoria, Arizona; Joe (Lucretia) Hall of Papillion, Nebraska; Tammy (Gregg) Savage of Draper, Utah; Mellanie (Jason) Martinez of Lindon, Utah; Jennifer (Todd) of Annabella, Utah;  27 Grandchildren; and 12 Great-Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Mary Hall; his siblings, Marilyn (Manford) Leale, Jack (Evelan) Hall, and Burke (Pat) Hall; and grandchild, Max Robert Keele.

A viewing for family and friends will be held Friday, December 18th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street in Orem.

Funeral services will be held for the family on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Sunset Heights 4th Ward Ward Chapel, 500 South 600 West in Orem. A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. prior to the services at the Ward Chapel.

Interment will be held at the Timpanogos Memorial Garden Cemetery, Orem, Utah
