Bob Roberts, 97, passed away September 30, 2017. He was born on January 4, 1920, in Los Angeles, California, to Robert Roberts and Irene Giordani Roberts. He married Marjorie Maxine Kropf Littell, on November 19, 1937, in Yuma, Arizona. Their marriage was solemnized in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple on March 8, 1997.
His early childhood was spent in the Los Angeles County area. He attended Roosevelt Jr. High School, and went to Alhambra High School, where he met and married his wife of 77 years. They had three children. Bob started working after school at Premier Paint Factory, in Los Angeles, and cleaned paint barrels and did odd jobs, until Milford Studder, one of the guys, took him aside and helped him learn how to tint paint. He lived in the years of the great depression...1930's. He spent most of his life as a manager for various paint companies.
Bob joined the Navy when World War II started and was in the Aviation Ordinance Work, on Guided Missiles. He received points or stars and a victory medal for his service. After the war, he went back to the paint business. At one time, he and his brother-in-law, Orville Stuebner, opened a paint and wallpaper store in Arcadia, California.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie; son, Bob Roberts; his brother, Ernie, and sisters: Norma, Betty, and Terry. He is survived by his daughters: Jo Ann Benson, Lindon, Utah, and Sandy (Derrill) Fulkerson, Prescott, Arizona; daughter-in-law, Florene Roberts, Orem, Utah; brothers, Steve Roberts and Bud Fleisch, along with sisters: Dolores Clark, Barbara Mc Govern, Patricia Shelby, and many grandchildren. We loved him and will miss him.
Graveside Services will be held Friday, October 6, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at the Orem City Cemetery located at 1520 North 800 East Orem, Utah. A viewing will be held Thursday, October 5, 2017, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary located at 495 Soutah State Street, Orem, Utah.
