Robert Hovey passed away on January 13, 2016 at home surrounded by family. Robert was born in Leota, Utah on November 18, 1929 to Bert and Fontella Hovey. He moved at age 12 to Salt Lake City and after 2 years they moved back to their farm on the Green River. Later moving to the Provo Orem area. He graduated from Provo high school. Robert later served in the U.S. Airforce as crew chief on P-51's and F-86 fighters. He married the love of his life Lucille Doxford on September 12, 1955. After his military service Robert worked in the Plastering trade for 35 years then for Orem City for 15 years. He was an active member of the LDS Church. He is survived by his loving wife Lucille, four children; Verl Hovey, Vickie Bastian, Valerie Slaughter, and Darin Hovey. 21 grandchildren, 66 great grandchildren and 1 sister Barbara Ingalsbe also survive him. He was preceded in death by his father Bert Hovey and mother Fontella Williams Hovey and sister Mildred Mckenna. Funeral Services will be held Monday January 18, 2016 at 11:00 at the LDS Chapel located at 155 West 1600 South in Orem. A viewing will be held from 9:45-10:45 prior to the services. Interment will take place at East Lawn Cemetery.
