Robert “Bob” M. Gillespie, 75, of American Fork, passed peacefully in his home on Thursday, October 24, 2024. He was a man of few words but his determination to serve God despite physical challenges and setbacks was an inspiration to those who knew him.
Bob was born in Reno, Nevada, to Frank and Nina Gillespie on August 25, 1949. He married Mary C. Drayton in the Los Angeles Temple on March 18, 1972.
Bob was a skilled upholsterer, carpet fitter and woodworker. He enjoyed spending time in his workshop creating intricate crafts and furniture for loved ones. Bob loved his family and showed his love in all the ways he knew how. He was a follower of Jesus Christ and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his surviving wife Mary and six children: Robert, Sandy, Owen, Wendy, Ian, and Amy; sons-in-law Phil, Warren, and Dom; 21 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints chapel located at 975 N 60 E, American Fork, UT 84003.
A viewing for friends and family will be held on Monday evening from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and on Tuesday just prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
