Reba Fay Bryner, age 82 of Orem Utah. Passed away on July 2, 2018 in Provo Utah. Reba was born in Sandy Utah on August 17,1935 to Ernest and Leona Berry. Earnest and Leona had moved to the Salt Lake Valley for work and made this their home, until young Reba was 2 years old. Reba was born in Covenant and was fifth generation Latter Day Saint. The family relocated back to Mississippi to her Berry family roots. The Berry family was instrumental in missionary work in the early pioneer days, of the young Latter Day Saint church. Rebas great great grandfather provided shelter for the LDS missionaries from angry local mobbs. Gunfire was exchanged and Grandpa Berry later succumbed, as a result of those wounds. Her love and commitment to the Gospel ran deep.
Reba stayed in the Mississippi / Tennessee area until 1973 when she and first husband Wallace Hoover, moved their family to Colorado Springs, Colorado. Reba enjoyed travel, Classical music and spending time with family and friends.
Reba as a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, served as a visiting teacher, in the Primary Presidency as a teacher in Young Womens as well as other meaningful callings. Reba was called to serve two missions. One to Australia and one to New Zealand.
Reba is survived by her Husband, John Castleton Bryner of Orem Utah, his family, to include Barbara Shaw of Orem Utah, Mark Bryner of Salt Lake City, Utah, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her step children, John Bryner Jr and Karen Livingston. Reba's children - Rhonda Spears of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Wallace (Butch) Hoover of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Fay Rachelle Nardo - Simeon of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Her 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Reba was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her 5th great grandchild to arrive Oct 2018.
Funeral services will be held July 7th, 2018 at 1:30 pm. in the Cascade Stake Center located at 481 Center street. Orem, Utah 84097. A viewing for friends and family will be held prior to the services from 12:30 - 1:30 pm at the church. Burial will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery.
