Raymond Verbeck

Raymond Andrew Verbeck, age 79 of Orem passed away Friday,September 30,2016.He was born May 6,1937 in Duluth,MN to Carroll Thorne Verbeck and Helen Shafer.  He married Helen Humphries on June 23, 1966 in Orem, Utah

He joined the United States Air Force on March 28, 1958. He served in Vietnam proudly. He served his time as a Crew Chief in various helicopters but mostly in a HH-53 in a Search and Rescue role. During his service he earned various service medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross and 3 Bronze Stars. He loved to go fishing after he retired in 1980. He was an amazing father and husband and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also served proudly in the local VFW.

Ray is survived by his wife Helen Verbeck of Orem, his two children. Linda Shafter of American Fork; Michael Verbeck of Gilbert,Az; 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

A private family burial service will be held at the Utah Veterans Memorial  Park in Riverdale with full military honors. The Verbeck Family appreciates the out pouring of love,support and service that has been given to our family at this time.
