Early Saturday morning, Oct 3, 2015, Randy LaVell Heaps suddenly passed away at Timpanogas Hospital in Orem, Utah.
Randy was the first son of P. LaVell and Ila Prestwich Heaps, born July 9, 1949 at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo, Utah. He was the love of his mothers life!
He graduated from Orem High school and then worked at Geneva Steel as a crane operator in the Open Hearth until he retired in 1999 due to health issues.
Randy married Debbie Bird, they were later divorced. Years later he married Sandy Lassen. They have one daughter, Jessica May Heaps. Randy and Sandy were later divorced.
Randy loved golfing, boating and riding ATV's. He especially loved hunting and fishing with Grandpa Prestwich, Uncle Byron and little brother Gary.
We want to give a special thanks to Gary and Deb for all the love, care and selfless service you gave to Randy over the last years of his life.
Randy is survived by his daughter Jessica May (Jake) Ellsworth, grandson Brayden and granddaughter Samantha Ellsworth.
Siblings, L.Kay(Debbie) Heaps, Springville, Kathi (Terry)Johnson, Providence, Ron(Annette)Heaps, Orem and Gary(Deb) Heaps, Orem.
He was proceeded in death by his parents and grandparents, Leland and Leona Prestwich, Pherron and Alene Heaps.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 11:00 AM. A viewing will be held that day from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street in Orem.
