Patricia Ann Smith Jepperson, age 86, passed away peacefully Thursday, August 1, 2019, in Provo, Utah. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on December 8, 1932, to Joseph and Lillian Smith. She was the oldest of three children. She married Walter Clyde Jepperson on June 12, 1952 in the Salt Lake City Temple. He preceded her in death on June 13, 1995.
From the age of three to her passing, Pat dealt with several difficult health issues with great courage. Growing up she lived in Salt Lake City, Logan, Provo and finally in Orem where she graduated from Lincoln High School. She had many talents as a youth. Her favorites were dance, poetry, and art. Her freshman year at BYU she was even a member of the Cougarettes. She has written many poems for her family and children that we cherish.
She and Clyde loved to travel together to places like Greenland, Germany, England, Greece, and Egypt. They lived in Utah, California, England, Texas, and back to Utah. They were able to travel much and enjoy many of the cultures of the world.
She is survived by her four children: Kevin (Alma) Jepperson of Payson, Utah; Lynn (Mike) Zollinger of SanTan, Arizona; Laurel Brier of Arlington, Texas; Lisa (Gary) Youngberg of Payette, Idaho; her brother Paul (Gail) Smith of Centerville, Utah; JoEllen Nyman of Jonesport, Maine; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Walter Clyde Jepperson; her parents, Joseph & Lillian Smith; and brother-in-law, Bill Nyman.
A viewing will be held for friends and family on Sunday evening, August 4, 2019 from 5-6 p.m. at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary located at 495 South State Street in Orem. A graveside service will be held at the Hyrum City Cemetery, 500 East Main Street on Monday, August 5th, 2019 at 2 p.m. Condolences may be expressed to the family on this page.
