Norma Workman

Norma Workman (90) of Orem passed away peacefully Christmas morning.  She joined her husband, Peter, who preceded her in death earlier this year.  They were able to celebrate Christmas together once again.

Norma was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, December 2nd, 1928.  She married Peter Workman on May 30th, 1948.  They were sealed in the Salt Lake, Latter-day Saints temple.  They celebrated their seventieth anniversary last spring.  They were blessed with eleven children, including two sets of twins.  Norma is survived by two daughters and three sons.  Colleen (Keith) Barlow, Alene (David) Ramos, Lloyd (Cathy) Workman, Layne (Debbie) Workman and Glen Workman.  Six of Norma’s children preceded her in death, David, Diane, Connie, Linda, Karl, and Neal.  Norma was grandma to 35 grandchildren and 67 great-grandchildren.

Norma loved homemaking.  She was an excellent cook, baker, and candy maker.    Norma also had a green thumb.  She spent hours cultivating a beautiful yard and growing houseplants.  She was very creative and loved crafts.  She crocheted, knitted, and quilted.  She excelled at fine detail work.   She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in the Relief Society.  She also enjoyed participating in Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and attended Chautauqua in the summers for many years.

Services will be held at 11am, Wednesday, Jan 2nd at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1546 North  1100 West  A viewing will precede the funeral at 9:30am at that location.  A viewing will also be held Tuesday, Jan 1st 6pm – 7:30pm at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary 495 S.  State Street, Orem.  Condolences may be sent at SundbergOlpinMortuary.com.
