Nancy Christiansen

May 10, 1961 — July 30, 2016

Nancy Worthington Christiansen passed away peacefully in her home on July 30, 2016 in Orem, UT after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She was 55 years old.

Nancy was born the fifth of six children to Thomas and Jane Worthington on May 10, 1961 in Provo, Utah. She graduated from Orem High School in 1979. She married Thomas Christiansen for time and all eternity in the Provo LDS Temple in 1980. Their four children were considered Nancy's greatest achievement and blessing in this life.

Nancy was a loyal friend to many. She was adored for her spontaneity and infectious laughter. She was quick to smile and secretly enjoyed the camaraderie of a good prank. She was a good sport and willingly submitted to good hearted teasing from family and friends. Every meal was more entertaining, and every game was more fun when Nancy was at the table.

She was an active and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served over 20 years with the Young Women of her ward and stake.

Nancy loved the outdoors, her perfect weekend would consist of camping and four wheeling with her husband.  She always enjoyed a good round of golf and an afternoon out on the boat with her family.

Nancy is survived by her husband, Thomas Jacob Christiansen; children, Ashley Christiansen of Salt Lake City, Michael (Jessica) Christiansen of Spanish Fork, Lindsie (Jonathan) Mendenhall of American Fork, Kelsie Christiansen of Orem; mother, Jane Worthington of Orem; mother-in-law, Betty Christiansen of Orem; and her 5 siblings. She is preceded in death by father, Thomas F. Worthington; father-in-law, Rolland K. Christiansen; brother-in-law, Freddy Michael Christiansen.

The family would like to thank Dr. Wendy Bryer and staff, Dr. Jay Clark and staff and all other Nurses and Dr.’s at the American Fork Hospital for their efforts, care, and dedication.  She considered the Dr.’s and Nurses her extended family for the past 9 years.

A viewing will be held at the Sundberg-Olpin Funeral Home, 495 S State St in Orem, on Thursday, August 4, 2016 from 6 - 8 pm.

An additional viewing will take place on Friday August 5 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Orem Timpview 2nd Ward Chapel, 1240 N. 950 W., Orem, UT 84057. The funeral services will follow at 11:00. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Nancy’s life.
