Myralee Elder

January 11, 1943 — October 8, 2020

Myralee Morse was born on July 11, 1943 to George Oscar Morse, and LaVern Margaret Holmes Morse, at the St. Mark’s Hospital in the Salt Lake City, Utah.  Myra had an older sister Faye Berry (husband George Butler), 2 younger sisters, Maryann (husband Mont Steele), Linda May (husband Kent Bair), and a younger brother David Allen (wife Debbie Morse).

The family lived in Provo until Myralee was in first grade; they then moved to Pocatello, Idaho. By the time she was in high school, the family had returned where she graduated from Provo High School on May 26, 1961.  The following year, she married the love of her life, Gordon Kent Elder on November 21, 1962 in Elko, Nevada.  They enjoyed adventures and travel with friends and family.  In 1965, they built a home in Orem where they lived together for 55 years.  Their pride and joy, their son, Bradley Ren Elder was born on July 21, 1970.

The family of 3 loved to camp and motorcycle in many favored spots in Utah.  Myra, aka Miss Myra worked as a preschool and kindergarten teacher for 18 years at Kids Connection Day Care in Orem.  She was loved by many children.  Myra kept a neat and organized home; she enjoyed decorating for each season.

Myra was an avid scrapbooker through the years; she has over 30 detailed scrapbooks chronicling the lives and adventures of her men.  She enjoyed visits with friends and family.  Her husband and her son were most important in her life; they loved and cared for her until the end.  She passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2020.  She is buried in Orem City Cemetery.
