Mildred (Mid) Reynolds Mendenhall, age 97, loving mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully due to congestive heart failure on August 10, 2014, in her Orem, Utah, home with family members present. She was born August 30, 1916, in Winter Quarters, Utah, to Pearl Padfield and Albert Leroy Reynolds. She married Earl Boyer Mendenhall on October 21, 1938, in Stockton, California, and was later sealed for time and eternity in the St. George Temple on December 19, 1951. She was a widow for 36 years, living alone until three weeks of her death. She was blessed with a keen mind and an amazing memory. Reading was her passion. Her cheerfulness, sense of humor, love, kindness and service will be missed by all who knew her. She was a loyal friend, a wonderful homemaker and devoted to her family, always acknowledging birthdays and special occasions. Her long life was an example of service, obedience and integrity. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint, serving in many capacities over the years. Survived by her children: Linda Olsen (John)-Midway, Utah; Jeffery R. Mendenhall (Sue)-Orem, Utah, and Mark Earl Mendenhall (Janet) - Signal Mountain, Tennessee; 12 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. Sisters: Catherine Anne Holley Jensen, Ruth Holley Whiteley and sister-in-law, Hannah Jean Fry. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 18, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Geneva Heights 8th Ward chapel, 546 N. 500 W., Orem, Utah. A visitation will be held from 9-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
