On the 18th of August, 2024, Michael Robert Terry, a resident of Orem, Utah, passed away after a valiant battle with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS/Lou Gehrig’s disease). He was born on the 15th of July, 1959, in San Francisco, California to Irene Pearl Buckley and Robert Hunt Terry. On the 11th of August, 1989, he married Gwenna Jepperson in the Salt Lake Temple.
Mike was a devout and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and he fulfilled a mission in Mexico. He derived great joy from his work with the Young Men’s program and the Boy Scouts of America, holding numerous leadership positions within the Bridal Veil Falls District.
He is survived by his wife, Gwenna, and their children, Andrew (Jamie), Sidney (Jesse) Drury, and Riker (Mary), his sister, Arnette Terry, and his five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services honoring his life and memory will be held on Friday, the 23rd of August, commencing at 11:00 am at the Timpview Stake Building, situated at 1050 North 600 W in Orem, Utah. A viewing will be held on Thursday, the 22nd of August, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Timpview Stake Building, providing an opportunity for family and friends to pay their respects. On Friday, just prior to the service, another viewing will take place from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. Burial will take place at the Orem Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to ALS United Rocky Mountain, an organization dedicated to supporting those affected by this devastating disease.
