Michael Lystrup

Michael Raymond Lystrup passed away on October 28, 2022, from complications of diabetes. He was born on September 4, 1955, in San Pedro, CA, and grew up in Garden Grove, CA. He moved to Orem, UT in 1991.

His favorite person was his mother and he called her several times a day. His favorite fishing buddy was his dad whom he affectionally called “Papa.” He loved playing games like Cribbage, poker, and X-Box. He delighted in giving gifts, especially pocketknives, to others. He collected coins, knives, and long swords.

Mike was proud of the day he became tobacco-free and celebrated that anniversary annually with family and friends. Mike loved cats, especially orange and white ones he rescued from the pound, naming them all either Lucky or Buddy and calling them by a nickname of Good For Nothing Kitty Cat. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Mike is survived by his mom, Gerrie (Walter) Davis, his siblings, Thomas (Shanna) Lystrup, LynnEl (Andrew) Springer, Cheryl (Kim) Johansen, Patti (Horace) Knowlton, and many nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, November 5, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Orem City Cemetery, 1520 N. 800 E. Orem, UT 84097.
