Melinda Liechty Reynolds, 56, of Provo, Utah, passed away on April 1, 2025. She was born on December 30, 1968, in St. George, Utah, to Carolyn Christensen and Edgel Liechty.
Melinda dedicated much of her adult life to being a homemaker while also spending many years as a general contractor and designer. She had a passion for design and construction, always finding fulfillment in bringing her creative visions to life. She also earned a cosmetology certification and loved using her skills to style hair and do makeup for family and friends. She built an impressive collection of stones and gems, and she was rarely without a special rock tucked into her purse or pocket. A gifted crafter, she poured her creativity into extravagant birthday cakes, handmade Halloween costumes, and festive holiday decorations. She had an eye for unique treasures and a knack for finding the best thrift store t-shirts featuring her favorite bands.
Above all, Melinda loved her children and grandchildren. She was their biggest supporter, always proud to attend baseball games, cheerleading competitions, and every special moment in between. Even while facing challenges with her mental and physical health, Melinda never lost her ability to find humor in life. She had a remarkable way of making others laugh, offering joy and light even in difficult times.
Melinda is survived by her three children: Alexi (Alec) Anderson of Eagle Mountain, UT; Kody (Emma) Baxter of St. George, UT; and Wyatt Reynolds of Provo, UT. Four beloved grandchildren: Benson, Calvin, Emery, and Easton. Siblings: Kathy Bennett, Mike (Terri) Liechty, Doug (Anne) Liechty, Christopher (Steph) Liechty, Patrick (Regina) Liechty, George (Sara) Liechty, Nicholas Liechty, and Eric (Charlyn) Liechty. And her father and stepmother, Edgel and Nina Liechty.
