Melinda Lee Mc Clure, age 52, slipped quietly home to her Father in Heaven August 24, 2017. Mindy was born February 9, 1965, to Glen Roy Mc Clure and Ruth Elizabeth Lawrence in Cincinnati, Ohio.
The family moved to Utah in 1968. Mindy was educated at Dan Peterson School in American Fork, Utah. After graduation, she entered the Rise program and was one of the first three young adults in a new state program specifically designed for the developmentally disabled. Over the years, she made many precious friends and had some of the most Christlike caretakers to assist her with her specific needs, Mandy Fredricksen and Jenny Jake Croft just to name two of them. Her mother claimed to be the LDS church’s longest running service project because for 30 years the Relief Society provided a sitter for Mindy each Sunday so that mother could attend her church meetings. Through the years, Mindy bore her physical challenges with great fortitude and patience. Mindy loved music, The Disney Channel, and perhaps more importantly BYU football!
Mindy is survived by her mother, Ruth, her brothers Michael (Cristy) Mc Clure of Gilbert, Arizona, and Dan (Becky) Mc Clure of Layton, Utah, and her sister Eileen (Chuck) Rawlings of Spanish Fork, Utah. She was preceded in death by her father, Glen Mc Clure, her grandmother, Opal Lawrence, and her paternal grandparents Roy and Grace Mc Clure.
A short funeral services will be held Thursday, August 31, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the Cascade Stake Center located at 481 East Center Street, Orem, Utah. A viewing for friends and family will be held Wednesday evening at the church from 6-8 p.m. and from 9:30-10:45 a.m. on Thursday prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery.
Condolences to the family may be left on this page.
