Keith Williamson, our dad, grandfather and great grandfather passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020. He was 90. Dad went out with the rumble of the earthquake that hit our area on Wednesday morning.
Keith was born to Maynard Paul and Rose Mae (Damico) Williamson on July 9,1929 in Provo Utah. He graduated from Provo High school class of 1947 and immediately started work at Geneva Steel. Over the years he earned the degree of Master Machinist.
He married his sweetheart Marilyn Duke in 1949. They were married for 68 years. To that marriage were born 3 children, Craig Keith, KerryLynn and Gary Duke. His sister Sheila became a member of our family after their parents passed away when she was very young.
He raised his family in Edgemont and there were many family gatherings, parties and meals prepared in the home and in their beautiful yard. It seemed like everyone migrated to grandma and grandpa's house on a consistent basis. Love and laughter were always there.
Dad was active in his community. He spent many years in the 20/30 service Club. He was also part of the first group that started the Utah County Jeep patrol. He contributed to the rescue of hundreds of people while serving with the patrol.
Keith had many long-time friends. He, with mom met regularly with friends from Geneva, the jeep patrol, and Good Sams club. During retirement Keith and Marilyn spent their time traveling the Country in their RV.
Dad loved the outdoors and being in the mountains with his kids and grandkids. He was an avid hunter, and fisherman, always providing food and memories for the family. He taught his family how to shoot a gun or bow. To hunt, fish, and appreciate being outside.
Keith loved working with his hands and could build anything. He enjoyed fixing boots and shoes while he owned Modern Shoe Repair. He could repair any car, and even built a few. There was always a project he was working on in his garage and he was quick to hand you a wrench and put you to work if you came over.
Keith's wife and our mother/grandmother passed away in 2016. His son and our brother passed away in 2010. Dad has been waiting patiently to embrace his life-long partner and be reunited with his son. We're sure that this joyous reunion was filled with excitement and love
Keith is survived by his children Craig, KerryLynn Lee (Leonard) and sister Sheila Stubbs (Clifford) numerous grand and great-grandchildren and his loyal companion Fritzi, his poodle.
Because of the health concerns of the world right now, we will not have a funeral. His family will held a small graveside service on Wednesday, March 25, 2020. Because we won't be able to see and hug each of you, will you send your love by commenting your memories of dad on the tribute wall.
His family will continue his legacy of love, family, and caring for others!
Thank you to Everyone who has been a part of his life.
