Maxine Hodson Young passed peacefully through the veil into the arms of her loving Heavenly Father and her beloved husband Alfred Young on March 8th 2016 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma she was 88. She was born on December 18th 1927 in Afton Oklahoma to Claude and Blondina Hodson. She was the oldest of three daughters. Maxine met the love of her life while working for Western Union. They were married shortly after. They lived in Oklahoma, Illinois, Albuquerque New Mexico and Utah. In 1956 Maxine and Alfred joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints which she loved dearly. She held numerous callings, Stake Young Women's Presidencies , Branch chorister, spearheaded and wrote Stake Roadshow, teacher in Gospel Doctrine, Stake YW President, Relief Society teacher, Stake Relief Society Secretary, Relief Society homemaking board, visiting teaching supervisor, visiting teacher, family history work and Temple work. Maxine and Alfred were briefly called as stake missionaries to open up missionary work on a nearby Indian reservation. Maxine loved to find old treasures and refurbish them. She loved to sew, cook and do crafts. She was a dear friend who spent countless hours helping those around her. She is survived by her son Al Young (Nancy) Grandchildren Ashton-Elsbeth-Tanner Sisters Judy Setzer (Ralph) Sand Springs, Oklahoma Claudine Braum (David) Florissant, Colorado Numerous nieces and nephews Numerous great nieces and nephews Preceded in death by her husband Alfred Ramsey Young, Daughter, Sonja, Parents, Claude & Blondina Hodson. Viewing to be held from 11:45-12:45 March 18, 2016 at the church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints Aspen 2nd ward, 1485 N. 800 W., Orem, UT with funeral to start at 1:00 Many heartfelt thanks to the many friends who loved and helped Maxine.
