Max Kay Prestwich died peacefully on Saturday December 2, 2017, surrounded by his family. We rejoice to know he is reunited with his eternal companion, Relva, who died 30 years earlier.
Max was born in Orem, Utah, on January 16, 1935, to Merlin Eugene and Frances Grace Jacobsen Prestwich. He graduated from Lincoln High School, in Orem and from Brigham Young University. He taught history and geography for 27 years at Lincoln and Lakeridge Junior High, in Orem.
He was a lifelong, faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, served in the East Central States Mission, and spent the past three years serving in the Timpanogos Temple baptistry.
Max loved to play golf with his family, strategize in chess, and greet new great-grandbabies as they came into the world.
He is survived by his second wife Anna Mae Prestwich; his brother Earl (Joyce) Prestwich; his children: Kristine (Eric) Ellers, Kelly (Brenda) Prestwich, Riley (Eva) Prestwich, and Elizabeth (Lynn) Bratt; 24 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held, Tuesday, December 5, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m., and again on Wednesday, December 6th from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m., both at the Sundberg-Olpin Funeral Home, 495 South State, Orem. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the Sundberg-Olpin Funeral Home.
