Matthew Thomas Steadman passed away unexpectedly at his home in Mapleton on June 29. He was 27.
He was born in Provo to George H. and Annette Redick Steadman. After the loss of his parents at a young age, he was raised and cared for by his loving aunt, Sherie Hooley. He graduated from Provo High School and later studied at UVU. He worked at Danville Services, UVU, and was most recently employed at Convergys.
He served an LDS Church Service mission in Springville and worked at the Provo LDS Temple. While at UVU, he met his sweetheart, Camary Lynn Brady. They were married one year ago in the Provo LDS Temple.
Matthew's life was devoted to service to others. He loved genealogy and family history. He loved people. He had a generous and tender heart, and extended love and kindness to everyone he met. Matt waged a constant, quiet struggle with health issues his whole life, but never complained. He served faithfully in many callings throughout his life, and always did his best.
He is survived by his wife, Camary, Aunt Sherry Uncle Frank Redick, cousins Carla Brittan, Cheryl Walters, Jeff Redick, the Cameron Spotten family, the extended Brady family and many friends in his Spanish Fork and Mapleton neighborhoods. He will be particularly missed by his nephew, Riley Holbrook.
Matt's family is grateful to the nurses and doctors who have cared for him throughout his life. We want to extend special thanks to the Mapleton police and ambulance department members who twice fought so valiantly for his life.
Funeral services will be held Monday, July 7 at 1 p.m. at the Mapleton LDS Stake Center, 970 North 400 East in Mapleton. A viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. Internment will be in the Springville Evergreen Cemetery.
