Mary Millet

Mary Elizabeth Millet, 62 of Orem, Utah, passed away on October 18, 2017, peaceably with her family by her side. Mary was born February 26, 1955, in Provo, Utah, to Joseph Burr and Anna Agness Duffin Millet. She was the fifth child of six. Mary never married.

Mary grew up in Orem where she attended elementary school, junior high and high school. She graduated from Orem High School and the LDS Seminary in 1974. While in high school, Mary participated in the ski club where she learned to cross country ski and also was on the track team. Mary was able to participate in the Special Olympics and won several medals. She liked to knit using a wooden knitting loom. She loved reading and was known to read the Ensign from cover to cover. She loved her Family especially the babies. Mary had an extremely good memory and could tell you the names and birth dates of everyone in the family going back 3 or 4 generations. Mary loved animals especially the family dog “Boxer” and her cats. She worked at Deseret Industries for about 10 years after high school.

She is survived by her sister Jeanette Millet (lynn) Powell, brother Joseph Brian Millet, nephew Richard (Shawna) Powell, and nieces, Julia (Dave) Bagshaw and Kirsten (Greg) South. She has 11 great-nieces and -nephews and 13 great-great-nieces and -nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her dad Joseph and mother Anna, sisters Joyce Ann and Linda Joy, and a baby brother.

The family would like to thank Canyon Breeze Assisted Living nurses and staff for the loving care they gave to Mary. And Brighton Hospice for the excellent care.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017, at 11 a.m. in the LDS Chapel at 445 South 700 East, Orem, Utah. Viewings will be held on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary located at 495 South State Street, Orem, and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church prior to the services. Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
