Mary Rose Fennell passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. She was 90 years old. She was born to Joseph and Adelina DeGiorgio. Mary was the youngest of seven children, all of whom preceded her in death. Mary spent most of her youth living, playing, and working on her father's farm in Lava Hot Springs, ID. While in high school she enjoyed singing and was often asked to sing at many local functions.
After World War II Mary met and married Amil Damron from Inkom, ID. They raised three children together. As the family moved around the country due to Amil's service in the Air Force, Mary would work as an accountant and bookkeeper to help support her growing family. Amil's last place of duty was at Vandenberg AFB in California, were they finally settled down in Santa Maria. Shortly after Amil retired from the Air Force, he unfortunately suffered a heart attack and passed away, ending 25 years of marriage. Sometime later Mary met and married Archie Godbout. That marriage lasted less than one year when Archie also suffered a heart attack and passed away. Shortly thereafter, she met and married Forrest Fennell. That marriage happily lasted for over 32 years.
She is preceded in death by three husbands and one daughter (Marsha Rae Smith). Mary is survived by two sons, Alan Damron (Orem, UT), and Randy Damron (San Francisco, CA). She also has nine grandchildren and a growing number of great-grandchildren.
Mary resided for the past year and a half at Osmond Senior Living. We would like to express our gratitude for their support and care they gave to her. We would also like to thank First Choice and iCare for the care that they provided to Mary.
In accordance with Mary's wishes, there was not a public memorial, only a small family gathering. She was cremated and her ashes scattered in the mountains that she so dearly loved.
Condolences to the family may be posted here.
