Mary Birk

On September 4th,2014 with her children by her side, our precious beloved Mother, grandmother, great grand mother, and great great grandmother was called home. She was just shy of her hundredth birthday. Born in Magna, Utah to Alfred Row Clinger and Josephine Hansen. She married Albert Thornton Birk in American Fork, Utah. They had four children Richard (Jenelle), Diana Adair (Bill deceased), twins Joyce Jones and Janis Smith (Jerry deceased). Mother lived most of her adult life in Southern California. OUR MOTHER WAS AN AMAZING WOMAN! She was an accomplished restaurateur for over 42 years. Also, one of the founders of Commonwealth Bank and served on the board of directors of Republic Bank in Gardena, CA. She had a keen mind for business. Mother was highly respected by her business associates and her employees. Among the last few words she spoke in this life were, " I LOVE MY CHILDREN, I LOVE MY CHILDREN", and she did. She is survived by her four children, 8 grand children, 26 great grand children and 13 great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 grand children. Funeral services will be held, Thursday ,September 11, 2014 at 11:00am Sundberg-Olpin Funeral Home, 495 South State Street, Orem, Utah .The family will greet friends from 10 to 10:45 prior to the service. Interment will be at Eastlawn Cemetery.
