Marie Colledge

Our loving mother, grandmother and sister, Leah "Marie" Butler Devenish Colledge, age 75 passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Thursday July 23, 2015 in Orem,UT, after a brief illness. She was born Nov. 25,1939 to Mark and Leah Butler in Spanish Fork, UT. Marie attended schools in Spanish Fork, UT. She lived most of life in Orem,UT and recently Springville, UT. Marie married James "Jim" Devenish on her birthday Nov. 25, 1955, they were later sealed in the temple. Jim and Marie were proud parents of three children Steven, Brian and Pam;12 grandchi ldren and 12 great grandchildren. Jim passed away Sept.17, 1987. On April 1,1989 Marie married Ted Colledge becomingthe step-mother to his children and grandchildren; Ted passed away Mar 7,2012. After losing her daughter Pam in Oct of 2007 she became a surrogate mother to Pam's three daughters. Marie loved camping,boating and golfing before her health declined after which she loved to travel with family and friends. Marie loved her family and was always willto help them out; she never turned anyone away. Marie worked and retired after more than 20 yrs. from Kmart in Orem, worked for Alpine School Distr.as a lunch lady and at the time of her death was a volunteer at Timpanogos Hospital making baby hats as she was legally blind. Marie is survived by her sons; Steve (Cathy) Devenish of Provo and Brian (Susy) Devenish of Springville, her 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren;Her mother Leah Butler; sister Vicki Thompson of Spanish Fork; brothers Don Butler of Virgin River, Rod (Tina) Butler of Cottonwood Heights and Marvin Butler of Spanish fork; brother in law Sherm Frank; several nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her father Mark Butler, 2 husbands Jim Devenish and Ted Colledge; 2 daughters Catherine (Still born) and Pam Kay Wright; and sister Jeri B Frank. Marie will be greatly missed by all that knew her.Rest in Peace mom,grandma and grandma "grape" you have earn it; we love you. A viewing will be on Tuesday July 28, 2015 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Sundberg-Olpin Funeral Home at 495 S. State Street Orem,UT Funeral services will be Wednesday July 29, 2015 at Timpanogos Park 3rd Ward 1000 N. Main Street in Orem,UT at 11:00 a.m.with a viewing one hour before services.
