Marc Sterling Thomas

Marc Sterling Thomas, 53, of Orem, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025. He was born on November 22, 1971, in Provo, Utah, to Daniel James Thomas and Alice Louise Thomas. Throughout his life, Marc experienced love and companionship. He was married to Jennifer, Kristine, Gail, and Kelly, and is now reunited with Kristine Thomas.

Marc was a true craftsman, both in his work and in life. As a skilled carpenter, he built custom cabinetry and handcrafted furniture, leaving his mark in countless homes with his meticulous attention to detail and passion for quality. When he wasn’t creating, he was exploring- rock-crawling in his Jeep, camping under the stars, or simply soaking in the beauty of nature. He had a deep love for heavy metal and rock music, always finding inspiration in the raw energy of a great song. But beyond his talents and interests, Marc was a man with a big heart, dedicated to helping others on their journey to recovery. He believed in second chances, in building people up just as he did with his creations. His adventurous spirit, artistic touch, and unwavering kindness will never be forgotten.

Marc is survived by his parents, Daniel and Alice Thomas; his four children and their spouses: Ema Cole Preetorius (Sean), Franklin Sterling Thomas (Cassie), Cassie Cheyenne Elias (Bernardo), and Brittany Lynn Kelly; and his six beloved grandchildren: Ethan (15), Cylis (11), Jay (6), Calvin (4), Aspyn (1), and Avery (1). He also leaves behind his eight siblings: Shelley Owens (Gary), Alan Thomas, Julie Lopp (Andy), Joni Elegante (John), Shari Taylor (Greg), Karen Thomas, Gary Thomas (Angie), and Christopher Thomas (Kristen). Marc will be deeply missed by his extended family and many dear friends.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, located at 495 South State Street, Orem, Utah 84058. A viewing for family and friends will take place on Monday, February 3rd at the same location from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Burial will take place after the funeral service in the Orem City Cemetery, 1520 North 800 East, Orem, Utah.
