Mable Jane Moulton Stone was born 29 Sep 1925 in Delta, Utah, the daughter of Grant Moulton and Eliza Manilla Overson. She was the fifth of eight children. She attended the local schools in Delta, Brigham Young University, and Barstow Community College, in Barstow, California where she finished her A.A. Degree.
During World War II, she married Reed L Stone from Vineyard Utah in the Salt Lake Temple on 1 Jun 1942. As a War Bride, she followed her Air Force husband to Las Vegas Army Air Field where she enjoyed her office work in the Engineering Office.
After the war, they returned to Utah and lived in the Provo and Orem area where Reed taught High School and they became parents of four sons, Larry, Roger, Kyle and Paul.
In 1964 they moved to Barstow California. Jane was active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints holding many church callings, including Stake Primary Counselor, Presidency of Relief Society councilor, seminary teacher and Relief Society Spiritual Living teacher. She loved teaching the youth of the church.
She and her husband Reed owned a business rebuilding alternators and starters for cars and diesel trucks and a self-service car wash. After retiring to Provo, Utah they invested in rental property and ran a successful rental business. Jane kept the books for each of these businesses.
As a family they enjoyed nature along with camping, hiking, and rock hounding. Next to her family, the joy of her life, her lifetime interest became Genealogy research and did volunteer work in the Family History Branch Library in Barstow, California. Retiring to Provo, Utah in 1991 Jane became a volunteer for the Extraction program in Provo West Stake. She has been very active in researching, extending, and compiling many of her ancestral family lines.
She was preceded in death by Larry (Dianne), her eldest son and her husband Reed, her grandson Brian, and great-granddaughter Lily. She also outlived all her siblings, except her brother David Stanley Moulton of Hondo, Texas.
She is survived by her sons, Roger Kent (Laurie) of Rigby, Idaho, Kyle Gordon (Debra) of Fielding, UT and Paul Reed (Susan) of Provo, UT.
She was a proud matriarch of 4 sons, 18 grandchildren and 45 Great grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. at the Marriott Meadows Chapel, 102 North 2400 West, Provo, Utah. Viewings will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2023, at the Marriott Meadows Chapel, 102 North 2400 West, Provo, Utah and from 9-9:30 a.m. prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed to the family on this page.
