Lyman Marion Campbell passed away peacefully on January 10, 2017, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Lyman was born July 16, 1933 in Vernal, Uintah, Utah, to David Clyde Campbell and Hattie Lucille Crouse. He grew up in Vernal participating in high school activities such as football, band, orchestra, yearbook staff, and various personal hobbies. From 1951 to 1954 he served in the U.S Army, and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. After he was discharged from the Army he returned to Utah and met his wife, of 61 years while attending BYU. He received further education in Cytology at the University of California at San Francisco and then completed his bachelor’s degree in Biological Science with a minor in Chemistry at the University of California at Fullerton. The family lived in Fullerton for 10 years. In 1978, the family returned to Orem where they have been living since. Lyman loved the gospel of Jesus Christ and served in many callings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout his life.
Lyman is survived by his wife, Patricia Carol Griffiths Campbell; his three daughters; Jeanene Marian Campbell Underwood (John), Terra Kay Campbell Anderson (Wayne), and Bonnie Jill Campbell Black (Tim), 12 grandchildren; Joel Underwood, Jennifer Underwood, Jill Underwood, Rashelle Anderson, Karl Anderson (Emily), Nathan Anderson, Mindy Anderson, Daniel Anderson, Crystal Black, Keith Black, Amy Black and one great grandson Cooper Dean Anderson (Karl and Emily), two brothers; David Clyde Campbell Jr., Rodney D. Campbell (Janet), three sisters; Laurine Campbell Lamm, Neita Campbell Huber, Sybil Campbell Wallner. Lyman was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis James Campbell, Aaron Elisha Campbell, and one grandson, Michael Wayne Anderson.
Services for Lyman will take place at the Orem North Stake Center, 1000 North Main Street, Orem, Utah, this Friday, January 13, 2017. The viewing begins at noon and the funeral follows at 1:00 PM. Internment will take place at Orem City Cemetery. Condolences may be left for the family here on the site.
