LouDell Edwards Bentley, 81, passed away January 6, 2017, peacefully in her sleep surrounded by her family. She was born September 2, 1935, in Orem, Utah, to Ellis James Edwards and Vida Pearl Cordner. She married Fred McRay Bentley of Parowan, Utah, on August 29, 1956, in the Salt Lake LDS temple. She grew up in Orem, Utah, where she was raised by Pete and Vera Elva “Ted” Mecham.
After graduating from Lincoln High School, she completed her radiologic technologist training at Utah Valley Hospital and her ultrasonographer training at Weber State University. She received much satisfaction as she served her patients during her career. She served in various church callings, but received immense joy serving in scouts. Her children, grandchildren, and all who knew her benefited from her love of life, love of work, and her compassion towards her fellow man. Her greatest joy came from her relationship with her husband, with whom she is now reunited, as well as her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her five children Michael (Vickie), Kay (Rafe) Bradley, Rob (Wendy), Jay (Jamie), Danny (Dawna), nineteen grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her sweetheart, parents, brothers Neal, Blaine, and LaVerl Edwards, sister Wanda Goddard, and son-in-law Kayle Christensen.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 13, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Orem 1st Ward Chapel at 80 South 280 East, Orem. A viewing for family and friends will be held Thursday January 12th at 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary at 495 South State Street in Orem and also 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral service on Friday. Burial will be in the Orem City Cemetery. Condolences may be left for the family here on this site.
