Lorna Prevost

February 18, 1925 — December 18, 2015

1925-2015 "If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart, I'll stay there forever." Lorna Beth Ahlstrom Prevost passed away peacefully at age 90 on December 18, 2015 surrounded by family members. She was born February 18, 1925 in Kanosh, Utah to Charles Harold and Elda Meacham Ahlstrom. She married Lawrence Everitt Prevost on August 5, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized April 13, 1957 in the Manti Temple. Lorna was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She served in many callings, but her favorites were always working with the children as Primary Teacher, Primary President, and Stake Primary President. She also loved being a Visiting Teacher. She enjoyed being a full-time homemaker. Later in life she had the opportunity to work at Allen's Bakery and Signetics. Lorna had a talent for making crocheted and hand-made items for family and friends. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren received baby booties, baby dresses, and blankets as gifts from Grandma. She loved watching BYU sports and the Utah Jazz. She was an enthusiastic and loyal fan. Lorna is survived by one daughter, Linda (the late Douglas) Tripp, of Orem; two sons, Lawrence "Bud" (Tamara) Prevost, of Orem; Keith (Carol) Prevost, of Fairview; ten grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren; two half-sisters, RaVon Pawley and RaMon Perry. Lorna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Beverley Eldredge; three brothers, Harland, Dee, and Jim Ahlstrom; and a half-sister, Jolene Warner. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 29 at 1:00 pm at the Sundberg-Olpin Chapel. Friends may call Monday, December 28 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary, 495 South State Street, Orem and Tuesday from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm prior to the services. Interment will be in the East Lawn Memorial Hills Cemetery. The family would like to thank all those who loved and supported our sweet Mom over the years. We would also like to thank all of those at Brighton Hospice Care who took such great care of our Mother.
