“Whatever time we’re given will be absolutely enough, as long as we make the most of it.”
–Kimberly Perry of The Band Perry speaking of Lori’s favorite song, “If I Die Young”
Lori Ann Holthe Seamons passed away at her home in Eagle Mountain, UT Saturday, 20 June 2020. She was 54 years old.
Lori was born 27 January 1966 in Lake Tahoe, CA to Pat Bauer and John Holthe. She graduated with the class of 1984 from Loara High School in Anaheim, CA. Lori married Jerry Seamons 28 June 1997 in a ceremony held at her sister-in-law’s home in West Jordan, UT. The two met when both worked for Firmenich in Anaheim, CA. Two beautiful children soon joined the couple, Ashley in 1992 and Kat in 1995. The family later settled in Eagle Mountain, UT where there was room to roam and grow.
Lori quickly found employment in Eagle Mountain, first as a lunch lady for Alpine School District and then for Walmart until her health began to fail. She was a fantastic cook and enjoyed hosting family dinners at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Her Christmas tree was always more ornament than tree boasting decorations from her favorite Disney films and those her children had made for her. She collected dolls and had some beautiful replicas of the characters from “The Wizard of Oz.”
Lori enjoyed reading mysteries and fantasy adventure books; watching anything Disney, especially the 2D animated classics; watching dramas and medical documentaries on television; doing word searches and playing board games. She enjoyed being home with her family but did take delight in a cruise to Alaska with her husband’s mother, siblings and their spouses. Her children have fond memories of being treated at McDonald’s every Saturday, riding horses around the block and up American Fork Canyon, and going to new movies with their mother. They describe her as loving, caring, smart, and hard-working. Later Lori loved spoiling her grandchildren.
Lori is survived by her husband, Jerry Seamons of Eagle Mountain, UT; children Ashley (Robert) Seamons of Roosevelt, UT; Kat Seamons of Newark, OH; Randy (Julie) Seamons and Louis (Sarah) Seamons both of Eagle Mountain, UT; ten grandchildren; her mother Pat (Tony) Petkosek of California; and sisters Janet Cole of Fullerton, CA; Cathy Charaba of Puyallup, WA; and Cheryl (Rick) Crawford of Redmond, Oregon.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, Justus Michael Seamons.
Graveside services will be held to celebrate Lori’s life and accomplishments at 2:00 pm Saturday, 27 June 2020, at the Mt. Pleasant City Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, Sanpete, UT, with Bishop Andrew Fallon presiding. Funeral arrangements were made through Sundberg-Olpin Mortuary in Orem, UT.
The family expresses appreciation to all who have reached out to Jerry and the children at this difficult time. Thank you for remembering us in your prayers.
