Lola Jensen

Lola Maurine Drage Jensen, 91 of St. George, Utah, passed away on Friday December 7, 2018. She was born November 20, 1927 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah to Alfred Drage and Rhoda Jorgenson Drage. She was the youngest of three children. Her brother Donald (Dixie) Drage and her sister Evelyn (Lloyd) Terry preceded her in death.

Lola married Robert (Bob) Gardner Jensen on September 4, 1947 in the Manti LDS Temple. He preceded her in death on September 7, 2017. Lola and Bob enjoyed a loving companionship that lasted seventy years. Lola dedicated the last few years of her life to minister to Bob through his physical ailments with unflagging devotion.

She is survived by four children; Craig (Penny) Jensen, Blair (Nancy) Jensen, Launa (Jack) Miller, Cory (Andrea) Jensen; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews and dear friends.

Lola was a long time and active member of the Orem Women’s Club. She was a talented singer and performed with various vocal groups throughout her life, including the Chauntenettes. Throughout her life she served in church callings to provide music for all that she could. She excelled at cooking and baking. She loved art, working in both oils and water colors. Lola was a dedicated friend who continued to maintain friendships over years and distance. She was warm, loving and generous. Lola believed that her greatest accomplishment was to encourage and create family love and togetherness to endure through the eternities. She knew how to live righteously and she and Bob taught their children to do the same.

Funeral services will be held Thursday December 13th, 2018 at 11 a.m. at The Sundberg Olpin Mortuary located at 495 South State Street in Orem, Utah. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Wednesday December 12, evening from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Thursday just prior to the service at 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be at the Orem City Cemetery.
