Lise Sua

April 7, 1951 — July 14, 2024

Orem, Utah

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved mother Lise “Pili” Sua on July 14th, 2024, in Provo, Utah. Her departure will leave a void in our hearts that words alone cannot express. Pili was a pillar of strength, a source of endless love, and was truly an extraordinary woman. Our memories of Pili are the treasures we will always cherish, and she will never be forgotten. Her love has shaped us into the people we are today.

Pili was born in American Samoa on April 7th, 1951, to Taifau Fuga and Simamao Tufaga, and was the second oldest of twelve siblings. Family was always important to Pili, and this was especially true of the beautiful family she created with her first husband Mata’itoa Tilo. They were sealed in the Laie Hawaii Temple. Pili had five children, four sons- Sampson, Ti’otala, Mata’itoa Junior, and Romney. One daughter, Saumolia, and later in life she took in her nephew Perris Kim and loved him as her own.

As her children grew, she also became a loving grandmother to- Samson Jr. (Katy) Jake Fuga, Jared Fuga, Jason Fuga, Amaijah Horton Wong Tilo, Brison Mata’itoa (Sierra) Tilo, and Analeia Lise Tilo. She also welcomed two great-grandchildren- Mason Fuga and Lolemasina Jan Tilo. After the passing of her husband Mata’itoa Tilo, she met and later married Randy Sua and their loving relationship saw her through to the end of her life.

Pili was also a dedicated auntie. She and Randy loved going to cheer the nieces and nephews at their various football and rugby games, as well as supporting them in their many activities.

Pili loved family gatherings at “The Ranch” in Huntington Beach, CA. She loved putting together Sunday dinners and going on picnics at the park with her friends. She was also a huge 49ers football fan and loved to cheer on her team in their colors of red and gold.

Pili was also a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints throughout her life and lived with unwavering faith. We know she is being welcomed into heaven with loving arms.

Pili is preceded in death by her parents, Taifau and Simamao Fuga, her first husband Mata’itoa Tilo, her sister Mary Jane Fuga, her brothers Willy Fuga, Samoa Fuga, and Gorge Fuga. As well as Brother in laws Ace Amisone and Ernie Sagiao. Pili is survived by her children Sampson (Loraine) Fuga, Ti’otala Tilo, Mata’itoa Junior Tilo, Romney (Jodi) Tilo, Saumolia (Katie) Tilo. She is also survived by her sisters Fa’afetai Sagiao, Saumolia Amisone, Vera (Jimmy) Fuga-Hill, Leiloa Fuga and her brothers Faafua (Sandy) Fuga, Romney (La) Fuga, and Tony Fuga. And numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
