Lisa Caroline Cook, 57, of Orem, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2024. She was born on December 2, 1966, in Bryan, Texas to John Lawrence Christensen and Nina Marie Rex Christensen. She married the love of her life, Thomas Wayne Cook, on February 27, 1987, in Bell County, Texas.
Lisa was raised in a loving home with nine brothers and sisters. Her Father, John was serving in the U.S. Air Force in Texas at the time of Lisa’s birth. Despite living there for a short term, Lisa took great pride in being able to call herself a “Texan”. She also thoroughly enjoyed and loved the adventures she experienced as a “military brat” with her nine siblings. This included camping and visiting her Grandpa and Grandma Rex on their Ranch in Randolph, Utah.
Lisa continued to maintain her close, patriotic ties with the military, when she married her eternal mate, Thomas Cook, who served in the US Army for 26 years prior to retiring. During that time, Lisa ceaselessly served the military community by spearheading family support group programs for military families. One of her greatest feats in life was raising two incredible and wonderful children, Courtney and Colby, and did so in places such as Schweinfurt, Germany, Zimbabwe, Senegal, and Tanzania. Lisa instilled in her children a love and reverence for God and all his creations, and a sense of patriotic pride in our country and its divine establishment by our forefathers. Lisa’s insurmountable love for her family continued on when her two grandchildren, Mason and Aria came into our family. She loved them dearly and will continue to show that love, but do so from Heaven.
Lisa is survived by her husband, Thomas, and by their two children: Courtney Caroline Del Castillo (Husband Bryan Del Castillo) of American Fork, Utah; Colby Cook (Fiancé Briana Geter) of Camp Verde, Arizona and two grandchildren, Mason Kai Del Castillo and Aria Caroline Del Castillo. She was preceded in death by her mother, Nina Christensen.
