Linda Dunn

Linda Dunn, 67, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Nov. 9, 2014 at her home. She was born on July 14, 1947 in Livingston, Montana to Evelyn and Kenneth Killorn; Delbert Chase was also a father to her. Linda graduated from Park County High School. It was there, while attending seminary, that she met her future husband, who was serving a work mission for the LDS church. During one summer she worked at Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone National Park. After high school she attended Billings Business College. Later she moved to Salt Lake City and worked for the LDS church's Genealogical Society, Wonder Bread, Emergency Essentials, Sears Telemarketing, and for the past 25 years she worked at Utah Valley University in the bookstore and copy center. Linda married Robert H. Dunn in the Salt Lake temple on June 19, 1968; they were happily married for 46 years. Early in their marriage they lived in Salt Lake City and Fayetteville, North Carolina while her husband served in the US Army. In 1974 they chose to make their home and raise their family in Orem, Utah. She was a faithful member of the LDS church and served in many callings including working with the Young Women, Relief Society, Sunday School, Cub Scouts, Primary, Organist, and 18 years as a Family History Consultant at BYU. Linda was passionate about family history work. She also liked to ice skate, loved music, embroidery, tole painting, playing the piano, and going on vacations to Disneyland and cruises with her family. Linda loved dolls and dollhouse miniatures, which she collected. She loved to gather with family for the various holidays and especially for the annual gingerbread house making. Linda will be missed by her loving husband, Bob, and their six children, Barbara (Dave) Whimpey, Richard (Darby) Dunn, Amber (Rob) Snyder, Jeff (Nicole) Dunn, Diane (Brian) Mann, and Craig (Katie) Dunn. Linda was blessed with 21 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, 2 sisters and 2 brothers. She was preceded in death by her parents. A viewing will be held Thursday, Nov. 13, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sundberg-Olpin Funeral Home, 495 S. State Street, Orem, UT. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the LDS Church on 600 S. 1100 W. in Orem, UT. An additional viewing is scheduled prior to the services from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment at Highland City Cemetery, 6300 W. 11000 N. Highland, UT.
