Linda Lee Currey

August 3, 1943 — August 2, 2023

Lehi

Linda Lee Currey passed away after a long illness on August 2, 2023, one day before her 80th birthday, at Abbington Manor Memory Care in Lehi, Utah.  She was born in Pocatello, Idaho, August 3, 1943, to Alvin Partridge and Doris Shelman Partridge.  She spent many happy hours with the family of Colleen and Donald Shelman, her aunt and uncle on the neighboring farm.

Linda was a graduate of Aberdeen High School after which she studied Nursing at BYU, graduating in 1965.  She made many wonderful friends in her Nursing program.  Later that year on July 2 she married Lawrence M. Harmon in the Idaho Falls Temple.  They lived in Gainesville, Florida where Joseph was born in 1966 then moved back to Utah where Jennifer was born in 1970.  They divorced in 1984.  On August 3, 1985, she married Donald Rusk Currey, who passed away 19 years later.

As a professional nurse for 40 years, Linda worked in an assortment of places, from hospital intensive care units, Geneva Steel, the Davis County Public Health Department, and after doing graduate work in psycho-social nursing, the psychiatric floor at Lakeview Hospital in Bountiful.  She took great pride in being an RN and blessed the lives of many patients.

An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served in many callings including Relief Society and Young Women’s President, but by far the calling she loved most was teaching the 5-year-old Stars in Primary.  Linda was known for her quick wit and sense of humor and was beloved by family, friends and co-workers.

Linda is survived by her son Joseph (Kathleen) Harmon and daughter Jennifer (Mark) Pollei and her grandchildren Hanicka (Weston) Biggs, Benjamin (Sky) Harmon, Jared Harmon, Rebecca Harmon, Rachel Harmon, Edward Pollei, and Henry Pollei.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 10, 2023, at the Sharon 6th Ward LDS Chapel, 545 South 800 East, Orem, Utah.
